Automating Elite Sports Content

Background

BIG, a prominent sports management agency with a roster of 600 basketball players across top global leagues, faced a challenge: reducing the time and effort in creating social media graphics. Our collaboration aimed to address this need, leveraging our expertise in motion graphic designs and automation.

Challenge

BIG's agents, each managing players from various countries, struggled with the labor-intensive process of creating custom graphics for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X. With over 20 agents and a diverse player base, including male, female, and external athletes, the task was daunting. Their existing brand guidebook, although comprehensive with templates for various posts (performance updates, transfers, birthdays, etc.), still required manual input, a time-consuming process for busy agents.

Solution

Our approach was two-fold:

  1. Implementing Brand Guidelines into Motion Graphics: We advanced BIG's existing design templates into dynamic motion graphics, maintaining brand consistency.
  2. Streamlining Graphic Creation through Automation: We built a sophisticated database encompassing over 10,000 professional basketball teams and related information, integrating it with our motion graphic templates. This database automated 20 data points in each graphic, such as team logos, league names, and countries, based on user input. Selecting a player's team, for example, automatically populates the relevant details into the graphic, eliminating manual entry.

User Interface

We developed an intuitive interface for BIG's agents, simplifying data input and significantly reducing content creation time. The interface's ease of use was paramount, considering the agents' tight schedules and diverse technological proficiencies.

Impact

This collaboration has been a resounding success:

  • Efficiency: The automated system has drastically reduced the time agents spend on graphic creation.
  • Consistency: Maintaining brand consistency across various types of posts and social media platforms.
  • Volume: Over 3000 customized graphics created and disseminated across approximately 50 different social media accounts worldwide.

Conclusion

Our partnership with BIG illustrates the power of combining motion graphic design with sophisticated automation. By understanding and addressing the specific challenges of social media content creation in the sports management sector, we have delivered a solution that not only saves time but also enhances brand consistency and engagement across global platforms. This case study serves as a testament to our commitment to providing innovative, efficient, and user-friendly solutions for digital content needs.
